If
you like Action/Boxing/and Drama, then you've seen the boxing anime
"Hajime no Ippo", or "Fighting Spirit" as it's
known in the states. It follows the humble beginnings of a young boy
who suffers from being bullied each day at school. Eventually he
takes up boxing, and immediately knew that, that was what he wanted
to do for the rest of his life. Giving him new found confidence, and
something to strive for.
Plus the series has great music by
Tsuneo Imahori (the composer for the anime "Trigun"), and animations by the famed "Madhouse" animation studio (the animators of both "Trigun" and season 2 of "The Boondocks"), this show has a very high pedigree when it comes to production standards.
Plus, this was a story that was near and dear to my heart, so much so that I took up boxing myself, and let me tell you, it has changed my life as well. That aside, after four years of waiting, production of the third season has finally started and will be airing in Japan THIS fall!!! This third season was hinted at directly after the end of season 2, which was in June of '09, so this has been highly anticipated by us hardcore Ippo fans for some time now. With a new season, AND a new feature length movie coming out THIS year, what more could we fans ask for?....... Perhaps a fourth season? Please?
