GAMER FRUSTRATION RETURNS IN WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN DARK SOULS II!

Greetings fellow gaming enthuisists and all around nerds, and welcome to another gaming update brought to you by your friendly neighborhood gaming nut, StormWulf!

So with no other gaming news to report of right now, lets jump into this shall we.

  Title: Dark Souls II

  Publisher(s): Namco/Bandai
                      From Software

  Developer(s): From Software

  Platform(s): PC
                     PS3
                     Xbox 360

  Genre: Action/Adventure/Role-Playing

Plot: While no actual plot has been reveal at this time, the game will revolve around a cursed character trying to find a cure for his/her's agony. Game director Yui Tanimura has mentioned that the sequel will be indirectly linked to the previous game, but he did not mention exactly how that it is to be. Tanimura also said that the concept of time will factor in to the storyline as well...but also didn't specify how that is to work either.

Gameplay/Overview: So as expected the gameplay in Dark Souls II will not be any easier than it was in the previous title. Director Tanimura was quoted as saying that
"As Dark Souls focused on giving a sense of satisfaction to players. Dark Souls II is also pursuing to provide that sense."
Basically meaning that there will be NO option in the game to control the difficulty anywhere in the game. So casual gamers may want to avoid this game, or prepare themselves playing either playing the previous title, or by playing any RPG on the highest difficulty setting.
While From Software is keeping most of the game's detail under wraps, they have reveal that good ole' fashioned dungeon-crawling and devling into dark places will be a big part of the game. Level design is, while also under lock and key, going to give the player more freedom than the previous titles. Combat will remain much the same as the original Dark Souls, with the exception of Dual-wielding which is entirely new, and is going to be an integeral part of combat with Tanimura saying that "unqiue actions can be performd by combing particular weapons together".  Although with the addition of more dungeons and dark places, the added encumberance of a torch can make combat more difficulty, especially for player who plan on using: Dual weapons, Two-handed weapons, or a weapon/shield combination. As far as the soul system are concerned, players od the original Dark Souls should remeber them as DS version of experience points, nothing is or has been revealed as to if there any changes or modifications at all. Finally players will not have the ability to save mutiple games or be able to pause the game mid-gameplay. Meaning one accesses the character menus at the risk of one own character's life. So be sure to clear an area of enemies be accessing said menus. Also "auto-save" will be back, so you do not have to worry about losing any progress...unless u die or what not before it saves. The additon of more horror elements means that I will definitely look into purchasing this title, cause who doesn't love a good RPG with a bit of horror mixed in, I now I don't.

Dark Souls II promises to be as good if not better than it's predecessor, so be sure look for it when it hits store shelves this March. This is StormWulf signing out saying: Stay frosty folks!

The Evil Within: WHO WANTS TO GET EVIL?!

Hey! Everyone's favorite gaming guru: StormWulf here to deliver today's gaming update.
Right so down to the brass tax.
Leon S. Kennedy....
Chris Redfield....
Jill Valentine....
Claire Redfield....
Ada Wong....
Albert Wesker....
If you've been around for the last couple decades then know who these people are, what they represent, and where they are from. These people, while fictitious in nature and creation, are synonymous to one man: Shinji Mikami. Mr. Mikami is the creator of the critically acclaimed "Resident Evil" Series, now he has split-off from Capcom to create his own company Tango Gameworks. Now he's taking us back to his Survival-Horror roots with his first solo title, along side industry great Bethesda Softworks, "The Evil Within". This title promises to be a "realization of pure horror" with a combination of "anxiety inducing horror", and mind numbing psychological horror. So why don't we dissect this little beauty shall we??
Consoles: Xbox 360, PS3, & PC

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Creator/Production Co.: Tango Game Works

Release Date: 2014

Plot: Right, so, every good game (survival horror especially) requires a story that will keep players wanting more and glue to their seats. What I've read of the plot of Evil Within so far, it has me wanting more, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
"When Det. Sebastian Castellanos and his partners, Joseph Oda and Julie "Kid" Kidman, rush to the scene of a gruesome mass murder, a mysterious. powerful force is lying in wait. After witnessing the brutal killing of his fellow officers one after the other, Det. Castellanos is then attacked and loses consciousness. He awakens in another world where monsters are wondering about, he must fight his way through a world of death and his close friend's madness, in order to understand what's going on. Sebastian has to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadow of that mysterious force."

Overview and Gameplay: The Evil Within will feature a 3rd person-over-the-shoulder-view, with the ability to move and shoot at the same time...THANK YOU MIKAMI!! That had to be one of the only real down falls of the RE series....Anyway. Players can expect to face overwhelming odds, unthinkable horrors, highly-crafted environments, limited resources, and cruel traps as they fight their way to answers. The environment will constantly change to help disorient and confuse players, and boasts threats from any direction. While fire-arms are the main weaponry, relatively scarce ammo will force the player to player to resort to different means to defend themselves throughout the game.

Meaning their will be melee weapons such as knives and axes, and traps to set such as mines. All items will be accessible from a inventory wheel and can be quick selected via the D-pad. There will also be some stealth gameplay, and the game will feature it's own chainsaw wielding enemy, paying homage to RE4's Dr. Savaldor.
The Evil Within creator Shinji Mikami was quoted saying
" I've found my focus and once again I'm starving for pure survival horror. I'm being VERY hands-on to see that the quality is there. Rest assured."
Meaning this game will hopefully be pretty damn entertaining if he has anything to say about it. This title is said to be the beginning of a new franchise, lets hope it lives up to that kinda hype.

Gaming Fun with J-Foo: Burial at sea (Bioshock Infinate) PT 3 (IN THE FACE!)

J-Foo, Armed with his oh so favorite Melee weapon of ALL TIME, the "Air Grabber" AKA "Sky Hook". He intends to get to the bottom of things by smashing horribly cold spinning hooks into several peoples faces in a very vicious and violent manner. Like J-Foo always says, Blunt force trauma first, questions later... or a better comparison, TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO KNOW OR YOU WON'T HAVE A FACE ANYMORE! And the say video games make you violent, HA!
