Well, I forget sometimes that bodies have limits, especially mine. It's been a long time since I've felt I needed some kind of support on my body, specifically my right hand and knee. How do I deal with this? KT Tape (or kinesiology tape). It's a special cloth adhesive that adheres to the skin and in special patterns to give support to the bone structure, the muscles and tendons. I used a special KT design on my fingers to help give support to the muscles that help operate my fingers so I can still open and close my hand with little pain, where as it hurt to open and close them before I put it on. Then I put strips on and around my wrist to stabilize the wrist.
As for my kneee, I put two pieces at the base of my knee cap and two pieces laying down and across my knee cap to help elevate the pressure that is causing pain in my knee. I found out about the benefits of KT tape a little bit after I started boxing. it helps reduce recovery time, helps you muscles function how they should when injured, and helps take pressure off joints to relive pain. It's a wonderful way shake off work injuries and boxing related ones so we can keep making a living. Hopefully it'll help my knee heal faster for tomorrow.
