HANG ON TO YOUR OXYGEN TANKS KIDS THINGS JUST GOT MESSY, TO THE MOON OF PANDORA AND BEYOND!!!!

Welcome back sports fans to another edition of StormWulf's gaming update. Come along and enjoy the sights and sounds as we explore deeper into the wonderful world of gaming. First things first, I recently found out a major piece of information that fans of the Dragon Age series will want to hear, BioWare has, quite recently actually, announced the release date of Inquisition so mark those calaendars people cause its coming out October 7, 2014. It promises to be an amazing game, and if it's anything like its predecessors it ill be. Next, the god-father of FPS, Wolfenstein: the New Order, is all set to release May 20th if things got as according plan, which they should. That's another title that promises to be good, if the trailer is anything to go by.
Finally before we move on the main portion of this article, it has recently been brought to my attention, having spent countless hours on the internet doing research for this update, that Ubisoft has set a release date for the 4th title in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 4 is set to be released on November 18th, 2014, that's right folks you heard it hear, probably not first but you heard it hear, Far Cry 4 is set to release this year. FC4 will be available for purchase on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC and will take place in the Himalayan Mounts in a fictinal region called Kyrat, that is controlled by a self appionted king. Now no real details have surfaced yet, other than what you see obivously, but I think it is save to say that players will be fighting to over throw said king. With that said be sure to tune in here for further details.

 Now on to business.

Title: Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel

Developers: 2K Austrailia, Gearbox Software

Publisher: 2K Games

Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

Genre: First-Person-Shooter/Role-Playing-Game

Release Date: 3rd Quarter 2014 [Fall 2014]

Plot: Play as one of four playable characters and help Handsome Jack in his escape from exile from the Hyperion Moonbase and help him capture it for himself.

Gameplay/ Overview: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place before Borderlands 2, but after the events of the original Borderlands game and is set on Pandora's moon

. President of Gearbox Software stated that he wanted to name it Borderlands 1.5 but he got over ruled by the kid on the BL block 2K Austrailia, so don't be surprised if some of the NPCs have a bit of an Austrailian accent as they plan on using them in this title. Players will have four character classes to choose from, with each character representing the class. Character/Classes are:

-Former Atlas Corp. assassin, Athena as The Gladiator: Players will probably recognize her as the rogue assassin for the Atlas Corporation from the Borderlands (orginial) DLC The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Athena will have the ability Kinetic Aspis, which allows her to absorb weapon, and eventually elemental, damage with her shield and send it back at enemies. Once upgraded enough her shield will also have the ability cause the return fire to ricochet and hit mutiple targets.

-Hyperion Engineer, Wilhelm as the Enforcer: Not much is know about what Wilhelm will be able to do ability wise, but upon leveling up Wilhelm will gradually take on the form of the badass Powerloader we all know and hate from BL2.

-Lynchwood Sheriff, Nisha as the Lawbringer: No info has been revealed about Nisha, other than players will recognize her as the girlfriend to Hnadsome Jack and the sheriff you kill in Lynchwood in Borderlands 2.

-Claptrap as the Fragtrap: That's right folks that annoyingly coward coward of a robot from the first two games is now a playable character.  Now nothing has been said as to what players will be able to do as this little guy, so we just have to wait for the game to come out or until more info has been released.

Players will begin this space adventure as henchmen to a "morally good" Hnadsome Jack. As the game progresses players will bare witness to his slow transformation into the manically evil bastard he is in the previous game. Gearbox Software Pres. Randy Pitchford has said that this game's plot would explore how villians tend to be

"morally ambiguous, doin possibly 'bad' things for the right reasons, and                  then have that reflect what [Handsome Jack] is doing. There are several quests in the      game where literally the only narrative purpose they exsist for is to show you that the      'bad guy' you're fighting is not actually a horrible person".

The actual gameplay for The Pre-Sequel will reamin exactly the same as in preivous games, with just a few additions. Firstly 2K has introduced new forms of weaponry i.e, Laser based weapons and cryogenic weaponry. The laser-based weapons will come in two varieties: 1. Beam blasters, which is one of the most essential types a weapons that one must have in space, think Star Trek, Star Wars, and just about every [good] space movie ever. 2. Sustained blasts, think the proton beam from Ghostbusters and the Spartan Laser from the Halo game series. Laser-based weapons will also have an added benifit, when they are used in oxygen rich environments they will deal bonus burn damage on top of normal damage.
Next we see the addition of "cryo" based weapons, "Cryo" will allow players to slow enemies with just a few shots and completely freeze them with sustained fire, once frozen players can then smash them to bits with a well timed melee attack. With the added benifit of playing on moon's surface come to other additions to survival and mobility: O2 Kits and zero gravity.  Oxygen Kits will be a new equipable item along side shields and grenades, they give the player the ability to breathe in the vast vacuum of space and will allow the player to hover and do a double jump by usesing the tank to propell the player higher as well as allowing players to perform a ground slamming attack. Tanks will also come in different varieties that can boost player stats. Also players will now have to monitor their O2 levels in order to survive in space as it as they will deplete with extended use, but they will recharge when entering an area shielded from space or by standing on air vents placed on the moon's surface.  With the zero Gs players will jump slower but higher, the downside is that now loot can float away if your not paying attention.  BP-S is set to hit the shelves this Fall, so be sure to chceck before then to see if we've learned any more information on it. this has been SotrmWulf on behalf of NS, STAY FROSTY FOLKS!

LET'S TALK WITH THE DEAD!

Today's gaming update is gonna be a short one what with it being Easter and everything, I felt that you guy's would be interested in this one so here it is, enjoy
      -StormWulf

Title: Murdered: Soul Suspect

Developer: Airtight Games

Publisher: Square Enix

Genre: Mystery/Crime, Action/Adventure

Platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox One, 360, PC

Release Date: June 3, 2014

Plot: When a dectective with a checkered past, Ronan O'Connor, is caughtup in a burglary, his life is brought to an untimely end at the hands of a brutally relentless killer.  After the shock of waking up in the afterlife, Ronan must used his new found powers and the help of a girl in the human world, Joy, with the power to talk and see the dead, in order to survive this limbo world of 'Dusk', and solve his murder and bring the killer to justice.

Gameplay/Overview:  Murdered:Soul Suspect takes place in the town of Salem in the state of Massachusetts. Okay first off, that's pretty cool, especially when you throw in the fact that in order to learn more about the case and the persons invovled players have to talk to all the 'past' citzens of this city wrought in a diabolical history. Players will be unable to talk to human NPCs and must instead rely upon 'reading their minds' which allows you to influeneces their thoughts and decisions at will. Players will also have the assistance of a human ally in the character Joy, a girl with psychic abilities which obviously include seeing and speaking with the long departed. Add in a pottery scene with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg to voice the girl and we would have a Hollywood hit on our hands, but oh well back to the review. Soul Suspect contains a bit of a horror element mixed in with all the supernatural crime-fighting, with the addition of soul-sucking demons that players can evade by opening dimensional tears (...wait a minute...doesn't that sound alot like another certain game inwhich players run around as a detective with the assistance of a young girl with interesting powers...hmm...nahh must just be my imagination.) in addition to a phenominal looking environments that really helps to give the player a true sense of all things dark and foreboding. As the game approaes its June 3rd release date hopefully more things will be reveal, but as with all good things developers tend to keep major aspects under wraps, so be sure to tune in again next week for your gaming update. Stay frosty folks!

PREVIEWS AND REVIEWS: THE WORLD OF THIEF AND BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!!

GREETINGS NERDS AND FELLOW GAMING ENTHUSIASTS!!!!!!!! Stormwulf has return from parts unknown, to bring to you a new console gaming update. This update is going to be special because, Stormwulf (out of his love for his readers mind you) has spent the last month or so trecking into unknown lands and countries to bring to you, for your reading pleasure, a little review of...THIEF! So stay tuned for that. Before I get too far ahead of myself I would like to take a minute or so to go over new releases and some updates on past posts.
 First off, as many of you have probably noticed quite alot has hit store shelves over the last month starting with;
-South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3, PC, X360)
      -Dark Souls II (PS3, X360)
-Titan Fall (XBO, PC)-For those of you wondering, Titan Fall WILL be on X360. However you will have to wait till April 8th before you can recieve your copy. For whatever reason EA and Respawn Entertainment thought it would be fun to make 360 owners wait another month before they can play it. It have damn well better be worth it.
Sorry got off on a bit of a tangent, returning to primary directive:
      -Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
      - Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PS3)

-Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS3. PS4, X360, XBO)
      -Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z (PS3, X360)
      -Infamous: Second Son (PS4)
      -Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z (PC)
*FANS OF THE BATMAN: ARKHAM SERIES WILL WANT TO READ THIS NEXT SECTION!!!!*
For those of us lucky enough to have played them, the Batman: Arkham series have held a since of enjoyment and thrill. That all is about to change for us though be cause Rock Steady have annouced that the next and final title, Batman: Arkham Knight will not be returning to the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360. Rock Steady has instead decided to release it EXCLUSIVELY onto the PS4 and XBOX One.

Okay I think that about covers things on the update side of things, now for the real reason we're all gathered here...Thief.

Now bare with me here this is my first game review...like ever...so just keep that in mind. I will try my best to make this simple and easy to read and understand without giving away too much of the game because, this is after all just a review and not a complete walkthrough, you want hardcore details about secrets and hidden treasures your gonna have to go somewhere else.

                                      Thief
Platform: 360, PS3, PC, XBX ONE, PS4

Genre: First-Person, Stealth

Plot Summary: Take on the role of Garrett, a master thief, as he steals his way through The City, and tries to find answers to over a years worth of questions: What happened at the Baron's Manor? What is happening to the people of the City? and What happened to his former apprentice?

                                                       Rating

Over all Game Score:  8.5/10  (With an ingenius and enitcing story,  near flawless stealth oriented gameplay, diferent ways to complete missions and objectives, coupled with some of the most intense moments in gaming this year. Thief makes players want to come for the gold but stay around for the phenominal story.)

Game Replay-ability: 7.75/10 (Moderately High)

Graphics: 7.5/10 (Phenominal character, environmental, and textural designing helps to makes player feel as though they are actually experiencing this dirty, grimy, yet some what beautiful city as they trapse along in search of precious boubles and trinkets)

Sound Quaility: 8/10 (An excellent musical score and great sound effects combine to help further engross players in to this exciting new world)

Combat (Non-Stealth): 4.5/10 (do to a lack of an efficient melee weapon and somewhat poor, non-stealth oriented, combat mechanics)

Combat (Stealth): 7/10

Over-all Story/Plot: 9/10 (Thief excells at keeping the player guessing what will happen next and in effect coming back for more time and time again to find out what happens next)

Over-all Game Mechanics: 7.75/10

Review:  Over recent years we have seen a almost significant increase in reboots of older and classic games. Some of them were good, and in some instances better than their predecessors, games like Tomb Raider (2013), DmC: Devil May Cry, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Rayman: Origins. While some have not been very good at all, we're talking games like: Duke Nukem: Forever, Golden Axe: Beast Rider, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). This year we saw the release of another reboot in Thief, and you can rest assured that it will be counted amoung those game reboots worthy enough to be label as sucessful. Thief, which has some of the best developemental predigree around, was developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. The game puts you into the shoes of Garrett (no lastname apparently), a master thief extrodinaire, as he piliages and plunders his way to answer and so much gold that even Scrooge McDuck would be jealous of. Combine that with an intriguing and exciting story and throw in some pretty intense horror elements and you go yourself the makings of a pretty decent game.
Now for the not so shiny side of this otherwise perfect diamond. While Thief shines at the stealth stuff, it dulls in combat. Players, when prgroessing through the game, are equipped with a compound bow, and more arrow types than a hillbilly can swing his banjo at, and a Black-jack. Now while this is a menacing combo when used as a part of stealth combat, it's really not a good thing for players who prefer open combat, because once spotted and combat commences, the black-jack becomes as about as useful as a toddler with a foam sword against the city watch who are armed with long swords and crossbows. You can completely forget about using the bow in open combat because, even when full upgraded, it takes too long for it to aim properly and once you take a hit players have to completely re-orientate themselves as well as aim again, which by the take you do all of that you been hit again and have to do it all over again.
Along with its shotty open combat mechanics comes one of the poorest attempts at a character progression system I've seen in a while. In most games continued use of an ability or eliminating enemies generally rewards the player with Experience points players can then use to progress character abilities or skills. Thief takes a completly different route by forcing players to either seek out impoosible to find Focus Points or to spent hard earned money to upgrade skills, Which in itself I wouldnt mind, if you didnt have to use money to upgrade your equipment and to purchase more supplies. So if a player only has 2,000 gld they have to then choose whether or not to spend that money on focus points, refilling their supply stocks, or upgrading their equipment (which mind you gets extremely expensive as the game progresses).
With it's intense story, exciting stealth gameplay, and the assurance of a possible sequel, Thief shines as a bright beacon of hope in the dark and dreary world of gaming reboots and seals in position as one of the best games to hit store shelves this season. I can fully as your gaming guru can feel no remousre in telling you to go out purchase this title, if only so that you as readers can expericene this game for yourself.

---This is has been StormWulf on be half of Nerds                                                                                      Socialize...Stay frosty folks....

TEAM NINJA RETURNS WITH- YAIBA: NINJA GAIDEN Z!!!

GREETINGS FELLOW NERDS! StormWulf here to drop some ninja news on your shogunate butts!

 Lets start the butt whoopin':
 Title: Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z
 Developer(s):Team Ninja
                     Spark Unlimited
                     Comcept
 Publisher(s): Tecmo Koei
 Platform(s): Xbox 360
                   PS3
                   PC
                   iOS
 Genre(s): Action-Adventure/Hack-n'-Slash
 Release Date: March 18, 2014

Plot: Easier to let you read for yourself:

"The game stars the powerful ninja, Yaiba Kamikaze. He was once part of a clan that tested the abilities of its ninja by putting them up against a highly skilled member, in this case being Yaiba himself. However, he eventually grew tired of his weak apprentices and decided to massacre his clan and leaving the survivors to their deaths.

At some point he meets with franchise mainstay Ryu Hayabusa and decides to challenge him, claiming that he was the weakest foe he had encountered thus far. During the battle he would discover otherwise as Ryu crushed his left arm and eye, almost killing him.

Later he is discovered by a mysterious organization who restore his lost body parts with mechanized duplicates. Yaiba learns that a zombie outbreak had begun and that Ryu had been searching for the source of the infection. He decides to work with the organization that resurrected him in order to exact his revenge against Ryu, agreeing to help put a stop to the spread of zombie infection.[7]" (Courtesy of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaiba:_Ninja_Gaiden_Z)

Gameplay/Overview:

In true Ninja Gaiden fashion, Yaiba: NGZ will be played from a 3rd person perspective. Combat will be your standard hack-n'-slash, with the addition of "Blood-Lust" mode, which took the place of "Ultimate-Technic" mode in the preivous games, Blood- Lust allows the player to decimate multiple enemies in quick succession. Yaiba:NGZ has broken the Ninja Gaiden tradition of realism in its animation style, and has instead went with shell-shading, fans of the Borderlands series will recognize this, to give things more of a comic book feel. Players will also be able to keep track of the number of enemies they turn to brain jelly with the score multiplier, no word yet on whether this will have any positive side-effects or not, cause like the majority of the information about this game, things are under a tight lock and key. Moving on, ninpo (which is used in the other games as special abilites and attacks) will not return in Yaiba.  Yaiba will relie upon his, as of yet un-named katana, and his cybernetic arm. The trailer for the games hints at the ability to use zombie parts as weapons as well. Which brings me to another factoid, the main enemies of Ninja Gaiden Z arm...you guessed it, those walking, brain-loving, bags of undead fles we all know and love, ZOMBIES! Finally a game where we pit one of the most deadly forces against good old fashion undead hordes, and for that Team Ninja we hear at Nerds Socialize thank you!  So this brings things to a rather untimely end for now. This has been StormWulf...Stay frosty nerds!

New Tactics Game From the Creator Of Final Fantasy Tactics!

As a gamer, I love Final Fantasy, but to be honest... not my favorite Final Fantasy. My favorite Final Fantasy was "Final Fantasy Tactics" for the GBA and PSX. I got so good at that game it wasn't even funny guys. My character would have so many skills that he'd have a contingency plan for his contingency plans! Well the Creator of that very game,Yasumi Matsuno, is creating a NEW tactics type game "Unsung Story" and on top of that, it's being funded by a kickstarter. It's amazing the world we live in, that we can fund projects all on our own with the help of fans on the internet.

not much is really known about the game itself, but we do know that the music will be provided by the same guy who works with Matsuno on ALL his project. I love when they try to stay true to the style that they use, down to the same music artist.

From the couch front, to the Battlefield 4!

By Mr. Grey

Everything hurts... My feet, the scars on my face, and hell, I think even my boots feel like they're hurting... And at the forefront of my mind is how hungry I am getting. One can't help bu feel hungry when they are beat, electrocuted, and forced to watch one of your friends get his teeth knocked in. Funny thing is, we did not give them any information. The funny thing is Irish would have spilled his guts for some food, but all that is in the past now. Out objective, we must destroy the dam! I pick up my very expensive, and very fancy PLD (Portable Laser Designator).

I see at least fifteen enemies, with another hundred yards or more to cover as more enemies hide, each one wanting our heads impaled on a stick. I can still hear Irish and Hana fighting about where we should plant the C4. I get very tired of this and pick out two enemies that had wondered off by themselves. I grab my Steyr Scout Elite sniper rifle I hold my breath and let the bullet travel to the first target. He felt nothing as I quickly found the second one in my sights. I follow and lead him as he RUNS OFF the dam!

I switch to my PLD and watch as he lands on the ground safely and still continues to run. I pause my game. Great another thing I can add to the list of crap that has happened on battlefield 4. So far the list of bugs I have found in this game is as follows:

three times my memory and game progress has been wiped along with the awards I worked hard to achieve. So I had to start all over again, I even had to pull an all nighter to get this done. Even so, I tripped up two times in the process. It got to be such a problem that I had to report the problems to Sony. But even then, I had to pick up the game and fight my way through enemies that I already killed before. Another time, as I was climbing up a ladder, I glitched through Irish. After that, I got tossed through the air, landing on a pile of sharp pointy rubble that was on fire. I was stuck, and could not escape as the fire began killing me. Basically this forced me to restart again...

So what do I think of Battlefield 4's storyline? Over all it is good, but having to watch the same crap over and over thanks to all those glitches got old fast. This really does not feel well knowing that the game was not finished. It's nice that they got multi-player polished up, but the holes left in the other aspects of the game made it frustrating. Like the game crashing, and losing memory files. But if one of you were to buy this game, more than likely you are getting it for the multi-player, which they were ACTUALLY able to get done in time. So my question is, when will the new “Battlefield: Bad Company” come out? will they ever finish that story? All questions we want answers to, and so far... no answers... *sigh*

Tales of Zesteria Trailer RELEASED!

Excitement! Though sadly this trailer leaves you a  bit wanting. it shows you he beautiful landscape in which the game takes place. the stunning PS3 graphics are amazing, and the character design makes you feel like you're playing an anime rather than a game itself. so we still have barely any info on this game. But hopefully some of the story we'll be revealed in english soon.

Gaming: Tekken Revolution, New challenger! ELIZA!

Well, if you don't know what Tekken Revolution is, it is a “Free-To-Play” game for the PS3. Though by Free-To-Play, I mean, free until they ask for money that you don't have to spend, but the game would be more fun if you did type deal. Namco Bandai (huh... those two names keep popping up today...) held a contest for fans to vote who the NEW character in Revolution would be. That character is, Eliza...

All that's know about Eliza is that she has been held captive by the “Rochefort “ family. The same family of the character “Lili” Rochefort (a personal favorite of mine to play as). Oh... and Eliza is also a vampire. And that's about all we really know I suppose. So for those of you who have been wanting new Tekken characters who are interesting and out there, here you go!

Gaming News: Tales Of Zestria Announced!

OK folks, J-Foo here for some news. I'm taking the reigns from Stormwulf for the day on Gaming news!

If you didn't know already, Me and Wulfie are BIG “Tales Of” fans. We love EVERY “Tales Of” game that has come out. We play them cooperatively and have a blast doing it. We love the story, we love the style, we love the music, and we love the funny! Oh right, and the gameplay, that's kind of important to! These games have held a big place in our hearts for a long long time. My personal favorite being “Tales Of Phantasia”, followed by Tales of Symphonia (which will be having an HD release soon). This new “Tales Of” game is supposedly Bandai Namco's attempt to establish a relationship with their American and European audience, by announcing right out the gate that it WILL be coming out in America, instead of us having to wait and wait, and beg and beg to see if there is any hope of the new “Tales Of” game coming to the states.

They better keep true on their words, because Bandai Namco has been notorious for releasing Tales of games that are supposedly AMAZING, and not releasing them in the states unless we beg on our hands and knees for them, and even though the chances are slim. I think in all fairness, Bandai Namco should release ALL “Tales Of” games the decided not to release in the States, but I'm not going to wait for a miracle. The new game looks good, the screen shots of the characters look pretty, and they're hyping the story pretty broadly as well. Though, if it's the default “the world is in danger, just cause, now go to the temples of elements and fight the elemental summon spirits to gain the power to save the world, cause for some reason, only you and you rag tag band of do gooders can... never mind a whole army... just 6 of you should do...” I might be a bit annoyed, but who am I to complain, I'll still buy it anyway.

Some screenys:
